The signing of the MoU for the University of Medan Area (UMA) and IAI (Indonesian Architects Association) on Friday, 23 August 2020 at the Rector Meeting Room, Campus I, Medan Area University Jl. Swimming Pool No. 1 Medan Estate.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed directly by the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Dr. Ir. Hj. Siti Mardiana, MSi, Vice Rector for Cooperation, Dr. Ir. H. Zulheri Noer, MP, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Grace Yuswita Harahap, ST, MT, Deputy for Academic Affairs Susilawati, S.Kom, M.Kom, Deputy for Student Affairs Indra Hermawan, ST, MT, Chair of the Department of Institutions and Units in the Medan University Area. The guests who attended the signing of the MoU were the MBKM (Free Merdeka Learning Campus) Architecture Study Program committee

Remarks given by the Rector of the University of Medan Area Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M.Eng said I was very proud to be working with IAI where IAI is engaged in architecture throughout Indonesia and hopefully in the future this collaboration can be useful for architectural education and implement it in accordance with the Policy Implementation Program. Independent Campus Learning which includes Student Internships, Practices. Fieldwork, Student Research and others.
In line with that, there was also a speech from the Chairperson of IAI, Mr. Boy Brahmawanta Sembiring, who said that his party hoped that the collaboration with the Medan Area University could provide benefits, including learning efforts in the current world of Architecture and its implementation. This is in accordance with the Mendikbud program, namely Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka
