Signing of the MoU for Medan Area University (UMA) and LPJK (Construction Services Development Institute), INKINDO (National Association of Indonesian Consultants), GAPEKSINDO (Association of Indonesian National Construction Companies) on Wednesday, 4 November 2020 at the Convention Hall Building, Rector’s Building, Campus I , Medan Area University Jl. . Swimming Pool No. 1 Medan Estate.
The signing of the MoU was witnessed directly by the Vice Chancellor for Cooperation, Dr. Ir. H. Zulheri Noer, MP, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Grace Yuswita Harahap, ST, MT, Deputy for Academic Affairs Susilawati, S.Kom, M.Kom, Deputy for Student Affairs Indra Hermawan, ST, MT, Head of Institutions and Units at the University of Medan Area. The guests who were present at the signing of the MoU were the MBKM (Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka) committee for the architecture study program and the Head of Study Program at the Faculty of Engineering, Medan Area University.
The remarks were given by the Rector of the University of Medan Area Prof. Dr. Dadan Ramdan, M. Eng, who said Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful and very happy for your arrival in the framework of this collaboration where our campus is preparing a new curriculum related to MBKM (Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka), this MBKM requires an achievement in the form of a number of implemented MOUs. involve active students in related institutions in engineering fields and also hopefully this MOU is not only on paper but can help in preparing a curriculum that is useful for students when they graduate and are ready to work.
Furthermore, as for the remarks from the vice chairman of the LPJK, Mr. Ir. Tohar Suhartono, MT he said that soon we will sign the MOU but maybe we need to say a little that LPJK is a North Sumatra Construction Services Development Agency and this LPJK has majoring in architecture, civil, machinery and spatial planning so one day I hope that uma alumni can also working at this LPJK.
Likewise, the Chairman of INKINDO, Mr. Ir. Pendi Sebayang, MT, who said this is what we have been waiting for so that the Indonesian nation’s children can progress, of course there is a synergy between those who emit and those who use this very good opportunity, ladies and gentlemen, that we need to take advantage of, and I hope this MOU is not just above paper, we have more than 220 members. Companies in North Sumatra are all various sciences but generally civil engineering, machinery, electrical engineering, architecture and many more sciences in it, so I think it is extraordinary for UMA to collaborate with INKINDO, this is opportunities for the nation’s children, especially in North Sumatra.
Finally, a speech was also given by the Chairman of GAPEKSINDO, Mr. Erikson L. Tobing, he said that if this MOU runs I am very happy and I am a fan of millennial children who want to enter the real world, I believe that our MOU if it can go long it will definitely produce results that it is very good if we implement it for real.
